up at 6:30 and into the kayak by 7:45. i paddled over to the outcropping of rocks and watched the fishermen casting their nets (for bait?). i stopped to chat with the kayaker i saw yesterday and he suggested anchoring over by the islands inside the bay so i suggested we do that soon as i got back to the boat. we were anchored by 9:30 and by 10 i was kayaking around isla coronado. jim wasn't feeling well so he slept hoping to feel better. it took 1.5 hours to circumnavigate this little isla and i saw boobies perched on cactus, ribbons of pelicans flying overhead, tiny bays with shear walls and beach full of tents. weather was perfect and the water is warm. nearing the end of the day, as the sun crept closer to the horizon, a large flock of birds with a loud clacking sound swarmed over the bay, across the beach, along the cliffs, like they weren't sure where to go. we reanchored back at perula and spent the rest of the day relaxing. jim needed to sleep so i read.
