tamales after the squall oct. 17

We reestablished our routines. I joined the gym which got me out each day. We read, we napped, and we started watching a lot of dvds. Movies on the lawn Tuesday and Thursday evening (with popcorn). We gathered for sunset with our fellow cruisers glimpsing the green flash. I hooked up with my friend Liz, who lives here, for a couple long and lazy chats. Our days floated by and we started planning for our upcoming trip to the Michoachan area. Then we started monitoring Hurricane Rick. It’s all we talked about, the anticipation of it coming. were we ready this time? for all you sailors, we must have had a dozen dock lines plus 4 additional tie downs for the bimini, dodger & dinghy which consisted of regular dock lines and heavy-duty truck cargo straps.
The Saturday before it hit (oct. 17), we were up at 6:30am with lightening all around and a hard rain. We raced to take down the boat cover. It was just a squall. by 8:30am we were up buying tamales from the local guy and back down below watching “the wind and the lion” on dvd.
