they're everywhere

nest are small and large dripping down from the stunted trees

trees crowded with nesting frigates

frigate drying himself off i guess

i had to watch where i walked because iguanas were everywhere, young and old. they didn't scoot away like they did at el cid.
frigates perched everywhere
more journal entries...
dec. 10 - after fried egg sandwiches it took forever to get the dinghy into the water. i think it's a job for the dock not the deck. we dinghed over to the south side, the fishermen's village of maybe 7 huts to get an ever better (is that possible?) look at the nesting birds. oh my gawd it was fantastic. birds everywhere. so many different kinds making different sounds of mating and welcome and stay away. many of the trees were only 5 ft tall so their nests were at eye level. the nest sitters didn't budge as we walked by within touching distance. it's our western galapagos or dawin country.
